History of Amagarh Leopard Safari

The Amagarh Leopard Safari Park in jaipur, in 2018, Amagarh was recognised as a Leopard reserve by the Forest Department of Rajasthan and it was introduced to the public on May 22, 2022 (World Biodiversity Day). This is the second leopard reserve after Jhalana Forest Reserve. This leopard reserve in Jaipur has given all nature lovers and wildlife enthusiasts a big reason to celebrate. This leopard reserve provides a safe home to around 16 leopards and other wildlife animals including desert foxes, striped hyenas, monitor lizards, and over 250 bird species. With a spread over 1,524 hectares (16.36 sq. km), the reserve provides a perfect hunting and breeding settlement to support the population to grow. It is located near the Galta Ji Temple which is a Hindu pilgrimage spot in Jaipur. Safari Experience

Amagarh Leopard Safaris are usually available in two slots, morning and evening. Visitors can select any time slot according to their choice. The morning shift timings are 5:30 to 8:00 am and the evening shift is from 4:45 pm to 7:15 pm. Inside the park, there are two safari tracks one is minor and the other one is major. These two different safari tracks are created inside the forest area to provide an exhilarating Amagarh Leopard Safari experience to its visitors. There are around 10 jeeps which can accommodate around 120 passengers daily. These jeeps will take you to some parts of this reserve where you can easily spot majestic leopards and other mammals including birds and reptiles. You must book your slots in advance due to the limited availability of safari vehicles. The safari will start and end at a gate near Galtaji temple.
